THE WAILERS - RUDE BOY - DOCTOR BIRD DB-1013 (1966)

A tough Ska tune from Bob, Bunny & Peter, I would love to be able to tell you that they are singing the praises of the Jamaican Rude Boys but I doubt many people outside of Trench Town can work out half of the lyrics, especially the line "Fi go lick a mi head 'pon you tambourine. "
A Studio One scorcher...but avoid the B side if someone tries to tell you it's "Ska With Ringo" by The Skatalites - it's actually "Ringo's Theme" by Roland Al & The Soul Brothers, and "Ringo's Theme" is better known as "This Boy" - nice song but cut in this instance as a pop instrumental, not a Ska one.

Why.. why.. why.. why..

Shoobe-doobe-do-by dey.
Shoobe-doobe-do-by dey.
Shoobe-doobe-do-by dey.
Shoobe-doobe-do-by dey.

Walk the proud land, my friends (with me).
